MedCena is an independent medicine price comparison tool. We are not a pharmacy and do not sell medicines. Our goal is to help Latvian consumers find the best price across 5 major pharmacy chains.
How It Works
We collect data from the ZVA (State Agency of Medicines) medicine registry and from automated crawls of pharmacy e-shops. Data is updated daily.
Our independence
MedCena does not sell medicines and takes no payment from pharmacies. Pharmacies in the price comparison are ranked only by price and availability - no pharmacy can buy a higher spot in the list.
Supported Pharmacies
Mēness Aptieka is not on this list. Its terms of use do not allow automated data collection, so we do not gather prices from there - this is a deliberate limit, not an oversight.

We combine data from two sources: the official ZVA Medicine Registry (medicine names, active substances, dosages, prescription status) and automated indexing of 5 Latvian online pharmacies (prices, stock, product links).
zva.gov.lv/zalu-registrsWe store only the price, stock status, and link to the pharmacy product page. We do not store the pharmacy's original descriptions, photos, or reviews.
